Establishing Strong Roots Into Your Purpose And WHY

If you've ever hired a coach you're probably familiar with hearing "what is your why?" Maybe you've heard it as "what are you playing for?"

There are 2 types of motivation in the world: internal & external. Only the former will actually yield you life long results.

External motivation, such as move to earn games, they may work for a short while but they don't last. It might be enough to get you started, it won't be enough to ensure you maintain your health and longevity through old age.

As long as we're relying on external forces for motivation, our motivation will always be fleeting, unlasting, and hard to find. In time we may even meet battles such as depression and anxiety as we look for that fix of checking the boxes.

But that's all it is. Checking a box. Where's the intention? Where's the effort? Anybody can check a box, that doesn't make anybody special.

Internal motivation is about having a WHY so strong you're out of bed bright and early in the morning ready to go.

You're not relying on anyone or anything to provide you a fix. You're self sufficient. You're Self Sovereign.

We cannot truely achieve any measurable amount of Self Sovereignty without our health, it's a daily activity to foster the growth and being we need to settle into.

There are a few components we must figure out to get there: Our 3P's, our big mission (for this stage in your life), and our personal ethos. These are our guiding lights and things we MUST tap into daily through meditation, journaling, etc.

This isn't to say we are or need to be perfect. That's not possible either! If it was, I wouldn't have a job, coaching certifications wouldn't exist. It's simple, but it's not easy.

Let's face it, even your trusted coach here has a coach. I have a few actually. They help me cut through my own BS (bullshit, belief systems, pick your definition) as we cannot read the label from inside of the bottle.

3P's:

The three P's to focus on are: Passions, Purpose, Principles.

What are you passionate about? This will get you out of bed in the morning.

What is your purpose? What is the overarching theme of your life?

WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR? These are your principles. If you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything.

Mission:

Our mission changes through out our lives. Perhaps when we're younger we're trying to find our footing and establish ourselves in life. Later on we may be looking for more connection.

Either way we're building something: a project, a community, a connection, a business, we're building our lives around how we see our identity.

Ethos:

Your ethos essentially packs up all the work into a simple and easy to articulate statement. There are many ways of writing out our ethos: poetry, song, letter, haiku, take your pick and allow yourself to choose something which resonates with you.

Self Creation

Where we get it wrong is we often believe we are here to discover ourselves. This is BS.

We are here to create ourselves.

While some things may be genetically encoded into us (such as my hair loss), quite often genetics operate as light switches. Obesity, depression, these things will pass from generation to generation if we let them.

It's up to you to take a stand for your life and break your generational curses.

It all begins and ends with you. It's your life. We only share this experience together once.

Dig deep, do the work every single day and never quit or leave your brothers behind.

While we may find strength in solitude, together we will rise.
